Hemp Flower and Hash

Hemp is being hailed for its therapeutic value across the globe in recent years and the CBD industry and developing at a phenomenal rate due to public demand.

Cannabidiol or CBD is a major compound found in cannabis sativa. The more commonly known cannabinoid found in cannabis is tetrahydrocannabinol ( THC ), but CBD is fast becoming the cannabinoid of choice for many reasons. Firstly CBD is not psychoactive and therefore does not provide a “high” like other cannabinoids such as THC. Secondly, CBD is legal in most states and countries as long as it contains less than 0.3% THC and extracted from the variety of cannabis known as Hemp. And lastly, CBD, just like THC, has many potential medical and therapeutic benefits.

Hemp has been used by modern and ancient civilisations for millennia, mainly as an industrial fibre but also as a nutritional and medicinal supplement. CBD cannabinoids are found in abundance in cannabis sativa and mainly concentrated around the flowers of the plant. These cannabinoids are extracted using a variety of methods and using different solvents to absorb the cannabis compounds from the plant material. The extracted Hemp oil or resin is then compressed to form blocks of CBD high Hemp hash, a base product that can be infused into many other consumer products. This CBD hash can have volumes of CBD reaching the 80% plus level and usually levels of THC less than 0.3%.

CBD flower may be consumed using a variety of different methods from traditional combustion in a joint or bong, topically on your skin or infused in an edible snack, to name a few. There are many known benefits of consuming CBD and piling up studies and reports are confirming the medical potential of CBD. In fact, the US Food and Drug Administration ( FDA ) only a couple months ago approved their first CBD medicine for the use in the treatment of rare epileptic disease.

CBD has not only the potential to be an excellent nutritional supplement but also a treatment for people suffering from pain, depression, mental issues, sleeping disorders and a host of other conditions. The reason CBD works so well to bring our bodies back into balance or “homoeostasis” is that it interacts and connects with receptors found in our immune and nervous systems. This system that CBD connects to is referred to as our endocannabinoid system ( ECS). Our ECS is responsible for many bodily functions such as a movement, mood, appetite, memory, to name a few, and helps us regulate all these important tasks.

CBD is non-toxic, natural, and non-addictive with no potential of abuse or overdosing when using it. It is a far safer alternative to the many commercially available medicines offered today. Hemp is also very robust and can be delivered to our ECS using many different products.

Hemp is legal in the United Kingdom as long as the cannabis flowers have been processed and that it is only labelled as a nutritional supplement and makes no medical claims. However with the mounting evidence of peer-reviewed studies, public opinion and demand the evidence already seems to be confirmed about the real medical value of cannabis, and especially CBD.

A couple products worth mentioning would be concentrates and flowers from HempHash.co.uk. They offer a variety of products that are Non GMO, pesticide free and compliant with all UK and EU laws. Mango Kush Jelly is a quality hash that is sticky and soft, contains 22% CBD volume and leaves you with a sweet mango after-taste.
