Ohio Dr. says Patient Wasting His Time.

[youtube id=”gyvDS3o9pvQ” align=”center” mode=”normal” autoplay=”yes” maxwidth=”800″]

Asking for Ohio Medical Marijuana recommendation Doctor Abuse Morphed Voices and private information removed to protect doctor and patient. it is not illegal to record in Ohio as long as one of the party knows. I didn’t like to do it, but I know this doctor to get loud, rude and refuse to listen, I was also afraid that the doctor would fire me, as most chronic pain patient knows that a doctor can and will put anything whether true or not in records and that can lead to being black balled. I wanted to show Ohioians the truth behind chronic pain patients life. this time He was milder than usually. And it took everything in me to get the guts up to ask for a recommendation, I have 3-5 things listed in Ohio’s regulations, plus extras that prevent me from taking even the simplest medication such as alieve or ibpruphan and other otc. He just wants to give me shots, that I’ve already had in the past and didn’t work, one time he didn’t give me any numbing shots and I came off the table and immediately went into shock that lasted two days.

Over $455,000 Seized from Medical Marijuana Patient Slapped with Civil Asset Forfeiture

[youtube id=”uXazqG95o1c” align=”center” mode=”normal” autoplay=”yes” maxwidth=”800″]

In March 2013, Steve Oates’ home in Goodyear, Ariz. was stormed by police, SWAT, and DEA agents because of a marijuana grow room in the guest house.

“It was like something you see in the movies. It was 6:30 in the morning, and basically you hear ‘bang! bang! bang!’ on the door, and next thing you know you hear the crash of a battering ram,” says Oates.

Oates’ doctor had recommended medicinal marijuana for Oates’ chronic back pain, so he attained a medical marijuana card with cultivation rights. Dispensaries were still few and far between at the time, and Oates didn’t trust Craigslist for his medicine.MMJ Card

“I felt like the next alternative was to grow it ourselves,” says Oates. Oates met a few other patients who shared concerns about underground marijuana channels, and they decided to start growing together. Oates had their entire supply during the raid, which ended up being more than the permitted amount that he could grow with cultivation rights. He pled guilty to possessing under two pounds of marijuana.

But the conviction ended up being the smallest price that Oates had to pay. Goodyear Police Department brought Oates’ case to the Attorney General, who consequently slapped Oates with over 5,000 in civil asset forfeiture. Civil asset forfeiture is when the government can seize property and finances that they suspect have a connection to illicit activity. However, they sue the property instead of the person, so there doesn’t have to be a related conviction.

“That’s what they’re claiming, is that the market value of the sales that he allegedly made was 5,000,” says Oates’ attorney John Moore. “They don’t have any proof or any evidence that the property that they are trying to forfeit is related to the crime of his possession of marijuana for sale.”

Oates says that between property taken, bank accounts seized, and legal fees, he has actually lost over 0,000, but that he would “rather spend every dollar on an attorney than just let [law enforcement] have it.”

Moore is helping Oates fight to get his assets back, yet says it’s easier said than done.

“In a typical civil case, it’s the plaintiff that has the burden of proof. But in a civil forfeiture case, it turns out it’s actually the defendant that has to show where this money came from,” says Moore. “We have to show by preponderance of the evidence, that this money that they are trying to forfeit came from legal means.

Moore adds that Arizona has a direct incentive to utilize asset forfeiture because unlike other states, Arizona law enforcement gets to keep seized funds for their own departments.

“Their focus is on raising revenues instead of actual law enforcement itself,” says Moore. “Instead of going after real drug dealers who are transporting across state lines or criminal gangs that are creating great crime and personal injury to people, they’re going after an individual because they know he had funds in his bank account.”

About 5:45 minutes.

Becoming A Medical Marijuana Patient in Hollywood- Getting your Doctor's Recommendation

[youtube id=”QXroGkImYd8″ align=”center” mode=”normal” autoplay=”yes” maxwidth=”800″]

If you want to become an MMJ patient and get your recommendation letter from a doctor to use medical marijuana, my video will show you what you can expect.

I wanted to do a video on how to become a Medical Marijuana Patient in California. I have helped many people become MMJ patients, so I figured why not put a video together. If you are already a patient, the renewal process is the same.
Clinic’s like Nirvana Clinic in Hollywood stay open because they are legit. There are many places you can go to get your doctor recommendation. Just make sure they are legit! Your information is meant to be kept private and secure.
Also, don’t forget to validate the status of your doctor by going to www.mbc.ca.gov or calling (800) 633-2322. A NOTICE TO CONSUMERS should be posted and state that “Medical doctor are licensed and regulated by the Medical Board of California.” Once you become an MMJ patient, you may only visit collectives and dispensaries within your state. The clinic will issue you a Physician’s Statement & Recommendation to use marijuana medicinally, as well as to grow your own medicine. Depending on where you go for products (flowers, edibles, concentrates, tincture, topical, etc.) they will need to VERIFY your recommendation first before you are able to make a donation. It is ILLEGAL to buy cannabis products. Most places will only accept letters, other places may accept ID cards that was issued to you by your doctor. It just all depends, but one thing they do need to see is a California ID with your recommendation. Details vary, so consult with your clinic and doctor. Don’t be afraid to ask questions!
I have been a patient for over 6 years and have returned to Nirvana this year for the 3rd time.
