The budding marijuana industry is opening the door for small-business owners and open-minded entrepreneurs, as states with legalized recreational pot see a boom in tourism. Over the past two decades, 28 states have approved pot for medicinal use, while eight states have legalized recreational reefer. In 2014, when Colorado made recreational weed legal, the state saw more tourists than at any other time in its history. One study estimates that Americans will spend .8 billion buying pot in the states where it’s legal. TravelTHC and BudandBreakfast, which offer travelers AirB&B style accommodations that are weed-friendly, are just two examples of how small businesses are taking advantage of the tourism boom.
